BASF’s Safety Upgrade Overcomes Major Challenges

EOSYS recently completed a five-year safety upgrade project with BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions – North America, ensuring that critical production machines met modern safety standards. The project required innovative problem-solving to overcome significant obstacles, including:

• COVID-related plant shutdowns that occurred just as the project was ramping up.
• Increased production demand following the pandemic, complicating upgrade schedules.
• Supply chain disruptions that delayed material availability and installation timelines.

Despite these hurdles, EOSYS collaborated closely with BASF, leveraging deep technical expertise and a flexible, solutions-oriented approach. The project required complex system integrations, including upgrading obsolete drives and implementing advanced safety functions for a wide range of production equipment—robots, laser printers, conveyors, pneumatic actuators, and more.
